A Personal Greeting from Sharon Frymer, Owner of Woodland Villa:
Welcome to the Woodland Villa Cabins website. As with all things and all people, we are an on-going work in progress. Although I have co-owned Woodland Villa Cabins and Country Market since January 10, 2001, I have just recently become the sole owner. As such, it is now my time to turn my vision for Woodland Villa into a reality. That vision is to enable as many as I can to share and experience the wonder and magic of Klamath, CA, “Where the Klamath River Meets the Pacific Ocean in the Heart of the Redwood Forest”.
I think it important for you to be aware of what this area means to me. When I first arrived here, I remember thinking “this place speaks to my soul.” Nine+ years later, this LA-born and raised woman still feels the same way. I never tire of the feeling I get when I leave LA and come back to Northern CA. As soon as I see the Tall Trees, my soul starts to sing; it never fails. One of my favorite memories of my son was when he was 7 years old and we were driving from Klamath to Crescent City through the Redwood Forest. He turned to me and asked “Momma, how many colors of green are there?” It is a question I still can’t answer, but one I will always ponder. Leave it to a child to put into perspective the majesty of the Forest.
For me, Klamath is the perfect place to renew your body, mind and spirit. To paraphrase one of my favorite groups, it truly gives you a “peaceful, easy feeling.” Whether you hike some of our trails, explore the wonders of Prairie Creek State Redwood Park, take a tram ride at Trees of Mystery allowing you an incredible “bird’s-eye” view of the trees all the way out to the Ocean, make “friends” with our herds of Roosevelt Elk, take the Jet Boat Tour up river where Bald Eagles and Ospreys soar, spot the occasional Bear, catch some of our amazing Chinook Salmon and Steelhead, admire the hundreds of varieties of birds and wildflowers (have you ever seen hot pink rhododendrons growing wild in the Forest?), look for Gray Whale spouts off Pebble Beach Drive or play just off the beach at the mouth of the Klamath River, go agate hunting on sandy beaches, wade and wonder at the tide pools, or just sit and listen to the wind blowing through the trees and watch the world go “bye”, there is so much for everyone.
Do yourself a favor. Allow yourself more than one day while you are visiting. Yes, you can “see” the Redwood Forest in 24 hours, but you can not really “experience” it. And isn’t that what we are all after…the Experience? Thank you for visiting and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
Warmest Regards,
Sharon Frymer
